M Series, E Series or L Series: How to Tell
Wolf has built three series of wall oven since 2001, and from across the kitchen they can pass for one another. The model line settles it. Match yours to the table below, or read it to Wolf Repair Bellevue on (425) 629-0033 and we will name the series.

It is on the rating plate on the oven frame, seen only with the door open; the previous page shows where. Take down every letter, number and slash.

Read the letter before the slash
An M, as in SO30PM or DO3050TM, means M Series; an E, as in SO30TE or SO3050PE, means E Series. The letter before it is the style: P, T or C for Professional, Transitional or Contemporary.

Look for a "-2"
SO30-2F/S, DO30-2U/S and their relatives are earlier E Series ovens, made 2007 to 2014. The F or U invites confusion with the L Series; the "-2" settles it.

F or U, no "-2"
SO30F/S, DO30U/S or SO36U/S is the L Series, Wolf's earliest built-in line on its timelines, made from 2001. The 36-inch SO36U/S ran until 2020.

Starts with DF, GR or R?
Then it is a range. DF is dual fuel, an electric oven under gas burners; GR is a gas range with a gas oven; R and a number is the older gas range that came before GR.

A style is not a series
Professional, Transitional and Contemporary are styles offered within a series, so a Transitional oven can be M Series or E Series. The style letter sits just in front of the series letter, which is why reading the model line, not judging the look, is the test that holds up.
Two Wolf appliances, two model lines
If your kitchen has a Wolf wall oven and a Wolf range, read both plates: they are separate appliances, and a fault in one says nothing about the other. In a Downtown Bellevue condo or a Somerset split-level, the plate reads the same way.
Common questions
- Does the generation matter if the series is the same?
- Yes, once a part is needed. An SO30PM from 2015 and an SO3050PM from 2023 are both M Series, yet Wolf lists them as separate models, and parts are looked up by the exact line and serial number. - Why does knowing the series help before I book?
- It narrows what has probably failed and how old the oven is. An earlier E Series oven is well over a decade old, for instance, so its parts are checked against the serial number before any price at all is given.
